Woman Given $100K Bond After Weekend Shooting In Weslaco

A woman arrested after a weekend shooting in Weslaco has had her bond set at 100-thousand dollars. Claudia Vanessa Zepeda appeared in court Monday and was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and tampering with evidence.

Police were called to a home in the 17-hundred block of Harrison Street on Sunday morning and found a man with gunshot wounds to his arms and legs.

Officers arrested Zepeda after she was found in a vehicle that had crashed into a light pole. The victim wounded in the shooting also received a 91-day protective order against Zepeda.
