A Balch Springs woman is behind bars after her autistic daughter died in her care. Crystal Canales was arrested after her adult daughter was found dead earlier this month.
Canales had called 9-1-1 to report her daughter was having difficulty breathing. First responders later discovered the woman was extremely malnourished and had multiple wounds that had required medical attention. Police have since charged Canales with injury to a disabled person.
