Utilities Working To Restore Power In South Texas

Power companies in South Texas are working to restore electricity after outages caused by a winter storm. AEP Texas and Magic Valley Electric Cooperative said thousands of customers lost power for at least a brief period yesterday.

AEP’s outage map for the region showed over five-thousand customers in Hidalgo County without power as of midnight. About 600 AEP customers in Starr County and 300 in Cameron County were also without power. Magic Valley was reporting about 17-hundred outages in Hidalgo County overnight.
