The war of words over tariffs is escalating between the U.S. and Canada. President Trump’s tariffs on Canada, Mexico and China took effect today, leading Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau to announce an immediate 25-percent levy on 30-billion-dollars worth of U.S. imports. Trump has since posted: ”

Please explain to Governor Trudeau that when he puts on a Retaliatory Tariff on the U.S., our Reciprocal Tariff will immediately increase by a like amount!” Trump often refers to Trudeau as the governor of Canada, America’s so-called 51st state.

The White House says the tariffs against Canada and Mexico could be lifted if both countries do more to stop the flow of fentanyl across both borders.
