Top Democrats are urging the Trump administration to reverse course on its plan to eliminate the Department of Education. On Thursday, ranking members of two House committees sent a letter to Education Secretary Linda McMahon saying, “We urge you to reverse these short-sighted decisions before they cause any more damage to America’s students, families and educators.”
President Trump signed an executive order yesterday that called for the Department of Education to be eliminated. Democrats argue the department does “important work to ensure that all people are able to access and grow through education.”
