A man is facing human smuggling charges after being stopped at a South Texas Border Patrol checkpoint over the weekend. Investigators say Louis Dante Anthony was exhibiting suspicious behavior when agents asked to x-ray his tractor-trailer at the Falfurrias checkpoint on Sunday.
A false wall was found inside the trailer and three dozen people were discovered behind it. Anthony was charged with attempting to transport people illegally present in the United States and made his initial appearance in court yesterday.
