Texas Voter Rolls Swell By 200K In Two Weeks Before Registration Deadline

Texas has almost 200-thousand new voters, all registered in the two weeks before this year’s deadline. The Houston Chronicle reports that the state’s voter rolls have broken records with 18-point-six-million people now registered ahead of election day.

The growth is reportedly due to large numbers of young voters turning 18, residents of other states moving to Texas and increased voter registration efforts by advocacy groups. In 2020, former President Trump won Texas by just five-point-six percent of the vote.
