By Texas Governor Greg Abbott has ordered State Troopers to beef up their anti-terrorism efforts. Former DPS Trooper Todd Bensman, who started the anti-terrorism division, says there should focus on houses of worship and large gatherings like this weekend’s Houston Marathon.
The governor’s order specifically mentions “radical jihadist terrorism.” The man who killed 14-people in New Orleans was from Houston and was inspired by ISIS.
