Private school vouchers are the Republican’s number-one priority for this legislative session. And teachers are ready for a fight. The head of the American Federation of Teachers in Texas says the governor promised to fund both vouchers and public schools. And they plan to hold him to his word.
Their latest polling found that 80-percent of their members, including those who vote Republican, fear that vouchers will negatively effect their neighborhood school.
