A state police sergeant based in South Texas is being charged with child pornography.
Officials said 30-year-old Preston Pietrzykowski of Edinburg was taken into custody Sunday after an investigation that started when his wife found a hard drive that contained illicit images of children.
Pietrzykowski serves as a staff sergeant with the Texas Department of Public Safety Tactical Marine Unit. DPS says he has been suspended.
