Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is the default winner in a State Bar lawsuit against him concerning claims of voter fraud in the 2020 election.
Paxton had submitted a petition to the U.S. Supreme Court claiming fraud in the presidential elections in four swing states. The State Bar’s Ethics Commission sued him in 2022, accusing him of making dishonest claims in the petition.
Last month, the Texas Supreme Court cleared Paxton’s deputy attorney general in a similar case, noting that it violated the Texas Constitution’s separation of powers. The State Bar dropped the lawsuit on Wednesday.
