Senator John Cornyn of Texas has fallen short in his bid for Majority Leader. He lost, today, to South Dakota’s John Thune, who will now lead Senate Republicans. It was a secret vote, but the outcome was 29-to-24. Thune will replace Kentucky’s Mitch McConnell, who is stepping aside as Republican leader.
