The state sales tax on some emergency supplies will be suspended this weekend. The Texas Comptroller’s Office says the sales tax holiday will be in effect between Saturday and Monday.
Supplies that qualify include portable generators costing less than three-thousand dollars, and emergency ladders and hurricane shutters that cost less than 300 dollars.
A variety of items that cost less than 75 dollars are also tax-exempt, including batteries, first aid kits, radios and portable light sources like flashlights and candles.
