The police chief in Rio Grande City is suing after he was suspended last week. Noe Castillo filed the lawsuit on Friday, asking a judge to reverse his suspension and order a public hearing regarding his employment.
Castillo believes the city commission is trying to find grounds to fire him. City leaders maintain that his suspension for gross misconduct is related to his performance as deputy city manager. A date for a hearing on the lawsuit has not been scheduled.
