The National Weather Service has extended a Red Flag Warning for South Texas and expanded the area it covers.
The warning will be in effect from noon to 8 p.m. and now covers the entire region, including all of the Rio Grande Valley.
The weather service says strong winds, low humidity and warm temperatures will combine to create extreme wildfire danger. Firefighters have battled several wildfires in the Valley over the last few days, including one yesterday in Mission that burned about 30 acres.
