Push For Accurate Crime Reporting

Congressional Republicans want all of the nation’s police departments — big and small — to report crime statistics to the FBI.

Troy Nehls of Texas says that Americans should have access to that information.

The former sheriff says, when big police agencies in New York and Chicago don’t send a report to the FBI, that leads to inaccurate information.  He used a Capitol Hill hearing this week to suggest that the federal government should withhold funds from cities that don’t play along.
