Protesters want leaders at IDEA Edinburg Academy to do more to protect students from bullying. Several dozen protesters showed up at the school Wednesday after a student was allegedly bullied on Tuesday.

The mother of the student says he was assaulted during lunch and that no one stepped up to help him. The student was injured and the Edinburg Police Department is reportedly investigating.

The school district released a statement saying that it does not condone bullying or violence.
