Drivers who use Shary Road in the McAllen-Alton area are being warned about a road construction project that starts later this month.
The Texas Department of Transportation plans to widen the roadway between State Highway 107 and Mile Five Road. The project will create two lanes in each direction, a left turn lane, wider shoulders and new sidewalks.
A new underground storm drain system will also be installed. Detours will be put into place during the construction.
