Progreso City Manager Announces Retirement

The city manager in Progreso will be leaving his job at the end of this year. Alfredo Espinoza informed city officials yesterday that he plans to retire on December 31st.

Espinoza says his 65th birthday is next month and that he always planned to retire at 65.

The city council had planned a meeting this Saturday that would have included a discussion about Espinoza’s possible termination as city manager. The meeting is now expected to focus on naming an interim city manager.
