A McKinney police officer is no longer with his department after he was hit with misdemeanor assault charges. Matthew Rehman resigned Friday after he was accused of inappropriately touching a woman at a police golf tournament.

The McKinney Police Association was involved with the event, an organization of which Rehman was the vice president. He has since stepped down from that position as well. McKinney police say an active investigation is ongoing.
