The Texas Department of Public Safety is identifying a man killed in a weekend crash in Edinburg. Forty-nine-year-old Michael Alaniz of Edcouch died Sunday.
Investigators say Alaniz was traveling at an unsafe speed when he lost control of his pickup and ran into a ditch on Jesus Flores Road. The truck rolled several times and Alaniz died after he was taken to the hospital. Investigators say Alaniz was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
