An Illinois man will spend a decade in prison for trying to bring drugs through the Rio Grande Port of Entry. Federal officials said Cruz Vargas Junior tried to cross the border into the United States with more than 100 pounds of meth in his vehicle in July 2022.
However, authorities found the drugs after they were alerted by a K-9 officer. Vargas pleaded guilty to charges last year.
