A man is accused of impersonating a federal agent and firing a gun outside the Houston County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities say Clifford Heniser entered the lobby of the office in Crockett and asked to see records after claiming to be a federal agent. He was asked to wait while the dispatcher called a deputy back to the station and the man then left the office, retrieved an AR-15 and walked back inside.

The office staff hid, and the man soon walked outside and began shooting into the air. He was arrested after surrendering to responding deputies.
