Lawmakers Join USDA Secretary To Announce $280M For South Texas Farmers

The U.S. Department of Agriculture plans to offer South Texas farmers millions of dollars in aid due to the ongoing water crisis.

Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins announced the 280-million dollars in block grants yesterday in San Juan.

Rollins spoke with Rio Grande Valley farmers during an event hosted by Republican Senator Ted Cruz and Republican Congressman Monica De La Cruz. Both lawmakers said the current water crisis is a major concern that could have an extensive regional and national impact.
