The trial of an illegal immigrant accused of killing Georgia nursing student Laken Riley is back underway. Her death in February of this year led both President Biden and now President-elect Trump to make a point of mentioning the suspect’s immigration status in campaign events and speeches.
Prosecutors said Friday that forensic and video evidence proves Jose Ibarra murdered Riley in February. They told the judge that Ibarra went out “hunting for females” on the day he tried to rape her and then bashed her skull in with a rock.
