U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement says a series of “targeted operations” was carried out in the Rio Grande Valley Sunday. An ICE spokesperson did not give details about the operations, saying only that the actions targeted “potentially dangerous criminal aliens.”
The DEA and Customs and Border Enforcement were among the agencies involved. The chief of the Rio Grande Valley Sector of the Border Patrol also announced Saturday that more than 700 illegal immigrants were sent back to their countries late last week.
