Hidalgo County Voters Re-Elect Sheriff, Tax Assessor-Collector

Hidalgo County Sheriff Eddie Guerra will begin his 10th year as sheriff. Guerra got 60 percent of the vote to defeat Republican challenger Ezequiel Jurado.

Longtime Hidalgo County Tax Assessor-Collector Paul Villareal will stay in his post. Villareal beat the Republican candidate Jorge Garza with 58 percent of the vote.
