Hidalgo County has scheduled a May election for the approval of two new emergency service districts.
Voters in the western part of the county will decide if they want to approve new property tax levies to pay for EMS and fire services in that area. If approved, the new levies would add about 200 dollars to the property tax bill of a 100-thousand-dollar home.
