Goines Requests New Trial, Claims Evidence Withheld

0

Former Houston police officer Gerald Goines is requesting a new trial. Goines was sentenced to 60 years in prison last month following his murder conviction in the deadly 2019 Harding Street raid.

The former narcotics officer falsely obtained the no-knock warrant that led to the raid in which Dennis Tuttle and Rhogena Nicholas were shot and killed.

Goines and four other officers were wounded in the raid. His attorneys claim Tuttle’s cell phone was withheld from evidence, and could have provided vital evidence during the trial.
