Fort Bend County officials are confirming the county’s first case of measles this year. Health & Human Services says the patient is a woman aged 50 to 60.

The case is reportedly associated with recent international travel and is unrelated to the outbreak in west Texas. Health & Human Services director Dr. Letosha Gale-Lowe advises residents to get the measles, mumps and rubella vaccine, which is 97-percent effective against measles infection.
