A former correctional officer is facing charges after allegedly touching a teen inappropriately. Forty-year-old Yuliana Mares of Alamo was arrested Tuesday and charged with child indecency and violation of the civil rights of a person in custody.
Investigators say Mares was working as an officer at Evins State Juvenile Correctional Facility in Edinburg when the incident happened in February. She allegedly touched the genitals of a 16-year-old male inmate.
