The Electric Reliability Council of Texas has issued a weather watch until Friday, but isn’t asking Texans to reduce their power usage. ERCOT says grid conditions are expected to be normal, and they don’t anticipate an energy emergency.
Governor Greg Abbott held a news conference on Wednesday morning in Austin, joined by several state department heads. Abbott said they’re not concerned that the grid will lose power, but are keeping an eye on areas in Texas that face snow and icy conditions and possible flooding.
