Edinburg Student Repeats As RGV Spelling Champion

An Edinburg middle-school student has won the Rio Grande Valley Regional Spelling Bee for the second straight year. Thirteen-year-old Caleb Guioco spelled “cipherdom” correctly to take the title Saturday.

The Edinburg South Middle School student beat 34 others to take the title. He will move on to compete in the Scripps National Spelling Bee at the end of May.
