Suspected Drunk Driver To Be Charged In Crash That Injured Edinburg Officer

A resident of Alamo is to be arraigned Tuesday for a suspected drunken driving crash that injured an Edinburg police officer. The suspect is facing a charge of intoxication assault following the Sunday afternoon wreck.

It was just after noon when a Ford F-150 smashed into the driver’s side of the officer’s patrol vehicle at the intersection of East Chapin Street and 24th Avenue just west of I-69C. The officer was hospitalized and treated for broken ribs.
