By Edinburg’s mayor has decided to end his re-election campaign due to a health issue. Mayor Ramiro Garza announced Wednesday that he has been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Garza plans to seek treatment and will complete his current term. The next election for mayor will happen in November. Garza called the diagnosis a complete shock but said he is confident he can beat the disease.
