Edinburg’s mayor says he plans to give the city his all during the last few months of his term. Mayor Ramiro Garza, Junior gave his final State of the City address Thursday night during an event at the Edinburg Arts, Culture and Events Center.
Gaza highlighted the city’s accomplishments, noting over a billion dollars in construction activity and nearly five-thousand new jobs since 2022. He also said the city planned to invest 90-million dollars in road and drainage improvement projects, as well as an expansion of the wastewater treatment facility.
Garza called his time as mayor the greatest honor of his life. He announced earlier this year that he would not run for re-election after being diagnosed with cancer.
