The Edinburg school board will hold a special meeting to discuss a high school principal who was arrested for harassment. Johnny Economedes High School principal Jesus Ramon Mata turned himself in over the weekend following an investigation lasting several months.
The investigation was prompted by text messages received by one of Mata’s colleagues during a group chat with other school district employees. The school district said in a statement that it has taken administrative action against Mata, though they did not give any details. The special meeting is scheduled for Thursday at noon.
