DHR Health’s intensive care unit has received a special certification. The Edinburg hospital announced Wednesday that it has earned the Disease Specific Certification in Respiratory Failure.
Only one-percent of all hospitals in the U.S. have received the certification from the Joint Commission, a nonprofit that offers accreditation and certification to healthcare organizations. DHR Health officials say the certification is considered the gold standard of approval in the healthcare industry.
