A Brownsville post office will be renamed in honor of an Army officer who died in Afghanistan. President Joe Biden signed a resolution last week renaming the post office on East Los Ebanos Boulevard for First Lieutenant Andres Zermeno.
The Brownsville native died in 2011 after he was wounded by a rocket-propelled grenade. Democratic Congressman Vicente Gonzalez thanked Biden for signing the resolution, saying it will allow the people of Brownsville and the Rio Grande Valley to pay tribute to Zermeno’s sacrifice and courage.
