Bomb Threat Increases Security Concerns At Brownsville Bridges

Federal authorities are looking into a bomb threat targeting the international port of entry in Brownsville. An alert about the bomb threat was issued by the U.S. Consulate General in Matamoros early Monday.

Customs and Border Protection said it was aware of the threat, while the FBI urged the public to report any suspicious activity.

The threat came as security was increased on international bridges between Brownsville and Matamoros following a Sunday alert.
