Authorities say two bodies have been recovered following a police pursuit that ended when a vehicle plunged into a canal in Edcouch. The incident began Friday morning when Border Patrol agents approached a vehicle that was suspected of being involved in human smuggling.
The vehicle had stopped at a flooded roadway when agents approached it. The vehicle took off and tried to cross the roadway but fell into a canal.
The dead are identified as an adult female and a juvenile male. The other four occupants of the vehicle were found alive.
