APD Detain Person Interest In Homicide Near UT

The Austin Police Department says they detained a person of interest in a homicide near the University of Texas.

The killing happened Saturday afternoon, with officers responding to reports of a shooting shortly after 4 p.m. The victim, a Hispanic man, died at the scene.

The shooting happened at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Interstate 35. The person of interest has not been identified.
