Governor Greg Abbott is prioritizing the passage of the school voucher program in the 2025 legislative session. Abbott gave his State of the State address on Sunday evening, laying out what he hopes the legislature will accomplish.
In addition to school choice, Abbott called for spending on school safety and pay raises for teachers. The Republican governor also pressed for more local property tax cuts, expansion of nuclear power in Texas, and upgrades to the state’s water supply infrastructure.
