Governor Greg Abbott says 500 million dollars in state grants will be made available for public safety programs across Texas.

Abbott announced the grants on Wednesday, saying they’ll include assistance for crime victims, border security, police agencies, anti-terrorism activities, and anti-human trafficking efforts.

Hundreds of different grants from the Public Safety Office will be sent to local police departments, nonprofits that work on crime deterrence, district attorneys’ offices, various state agencies, and others.
