Texas state emergency response resources are activated to deal with the cold weather expected statewide this week. Governor Greg Abbott on Monday directed the Texas Division of Emergency Management to be ready to use the resources to help aid communities affected by severe cold.

The National Weather Service says temperatures near or below freezing are forecast across large areas of Texas, and hazardous driving conditions may result. TxDOT is pre-treating road surfaces and providing winter roadway equipment to affected areas.
