TxDOT Beginning Process To Buy Land For State Highway 68

The Texas Department of Transportation is ready to buy land for a proposed highway in Hidalgo County.

State Highway 68 will eventually connect U.S. 83 and U.S. 281. TxDOT will start looking for a company to negotiate the land purchases for the project next month.

Property in the path of the highway will be appraised, and landowners will be able to counter any offer made by the state.
