Two Rio Grande Valley counties are being graded on their air quality by the American Lung Association.
The organization released its annual “State of the Air” report this week. Hidalgo and Cameron counties both received a “B” for having very few days with high ozone levels. Both counties also got a failing grade for annual particulate pollution, a measure of solid and liquid matter suspended in the air.
The Brownsville-Harlingen-Raymondville area was ranked 16th worst in the U.S. for year-round particle pollution.
