Republicans are defending the recent deportations of illegal immigrants, some of which have been sent to a notorious prison in El Salvador.
Senator John Cornyn of Texas says the idea that “grandmothers” are being targeted is a lie. He says the Department of Homeland Security has made more than 32-thousand arrests in just 50-days. Nearly half are convicted criminals. Others have been living in the country despite final orders of deportation. And 39 are known or suspected terrorists.
