Some county election officials aren’t happy about a Senate bill that would place all 254 Texas counties onto the state’s central voter registration system. At present, 32 counties use voter registration and election management software from private vendors.
Senate Bill 2382 would require counties to use the Texas Election Administration Management system, or TEAM. Opponents say the 32 counties are home to 75 percent of the state’s voters, who wouldn’t be affected if the present state system crashed or were compromised.
