Five people, including an infant, are dead following a car wreck that shut down a portion of Interstate-35 near Austin.
Travis County E-M-S Captain Christa Stedman says that 17-vehicles were involved in the wreck, which happened right before midnight.
In addition to the five deaths, 12 people were hurt. Some are clinging to life in the hospital. Three of them are children, she said. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
